fitting a hatch in the rear tankwell. The main reason for the hatch is
to get access to the rear of the hull to make fitting the anchor trolley easier. I got the hatch from H20 Kayaks, the first
thing I did was to cut a template out of cardboard the same inner diameter of the hatch, this was then centered in the rear
crate area and then drawn aound with a pen.
Once happy with the layout, a pilot hole was drilled and then the hole cut out
with a jigsaw
The hole was then checked for size with the outer hatch rim and the hole is then
sanded / tidied up
The rim was then put in place and pilot holes for the fixings were drilled out.
Marine silicone was then applied to the cut out
The hatch was then screwed into place.
Fit the lid, tidy up any excess sealant and allow at least 24hrs to dry
Now I just need to find a small plastic jar that can be fixed to the lid and
will act as a waterproof container for keys, money etc
