Kari-Tek Easy Load Roof Rack
This is my first impression review
of this system
The first thing you will notice is the quality of the materials and engineering that goes in to making
this system its first class no sharp edges and every piece fits perfectly where it should this is a comprehensive kit these
kits can be tailored to personal preferences I chose the kit to carry 2 sit on top kayaks on there sides the loading of the
kayaks is made very easy because you load them to the side of the car and just slide them on to the top so no back strain
lifting the yaks on top of the car anymore .

Above is the comprehensive kit every part is labelled and with the superb colour
instruction book that is supplied it’s easy to put it all together .
The kit all put together took me about 15 minutes
The system fits to any existing roof bars by way of a few clamps and locking
nuts and bolts it’s important to firstly make sure your roof bars are parallel so when the handle is attached it will
slide smoothly
The loader is shown here in the ready to be loaded position note the additional
sit on top support bars just behind the black cradles these are for extra strength while loading the kayaks
It is important to remember to give clearance between the loading system and
the side of the car also make note of the position of wing mirrors before setting the cradles so when loading a kayak it does
not catch the mirrors.
It took me aprox 20 minutes to fit the system to the car roof lining everything
up took most of the time
Loading a kayak or two could not be easier or safer just lay the kayak
on the floor next to the car
Then while the loading system is in the loading position just lift the
kayak waist high and pop it on to the cradles. It is also a lot easier and safer fastening the kayaks on with a couple of
cam straps while it’s in the loading position.
The kayak in the fully loaded position very secure
The whole sliding mechanism is locked in to place with a
very strong securing spring pin this feels very secure when locked but also makes it very quick to load and unload the kayaks
once the pin is removed.
Above this is the loading sequence I have used 1 kayak but it could just as easily have
been 2 kayaks.
