This is my review of this pfd The astral green
jacket is a rescue and guiding pfd Its clever new design takes the pfd to a new level of comfort with a high degree
of practability. The Tectonics allow outer front panel to move freely with upper body as the inner panel stays anchored
in place it has a 1,200 lbs rated Rescue Harness as well as a dedicated web tow zipped pocket . The astral green
jacket has 3 pockets 2 side ones and a front one What really sets it apart is the comfort and design of the pfd
Front view showing the many safety features. This pfd is rated
at 70 Newtons of Buoyancy
Rear view with web tow in place
The Front pocket is behind a Velcro and push button closure
to keep things safe
Front pocket shown here partly opened
The rear inside shows the clever mesh material this is to
allow air flow and ventilation
The floating front panel can be seen here this makes the whole
thing so comfortable to wear
Shown here with the Spectra Throw rope which is specially
designed to fit behind the front panel
The web tow is very cleverly designed to fit in a side
pocket I think this is a fantastic pfd for rescue and guiding its comfort is amazing you
really don’t know you are wearing it. the pockets and safety features are all well designed and within easy
reach should they be needed this is the first pfd to my knowledge which has a whole range of additional accessories like the
web tow and throw bag and I am sure this will be the way forward in future design of pfds I particularly like the floating
front panel it moves with your body as you move giving both comfort and practibility the retail of The astral Green Jacket
is £159.00
