The pouch is made from a nylon
type material and folds down like a roll wallet
as you can see from the photos
there is plenty of room in it each pouch seals separately with a 2 way fastener first of all it has a grip seal and then when
sealed a Velcro flap when I spoke to Steve from blue water earlier in the week
he told me it was designed for divers to put their things in and leave on the rib or boat they were diving from and if a wetsuit
or wet towel was put on top of it the things inside would stay dry .I have put it to a rigorous testing today far more demanding
than it was originally meant to do .
first of all the pockets were
filled with toilet paper so any water ingress could easily be seen I hosed the pouch as you can see while it was not folded
with a hose pipe for 15 mins constant and as you can see no water ingress at all .
Next I folded the pouch and
it got another 15 minutes still no water got to the paper inside
So it got the full works 30
mins under water . It was a real job to sink the pouch which would be another handy thing if it was to fall off the yak it
would float so we could get it back as you can see from the photo below not a drop inside
So I filled it up with mobile
phones mp3 players and keys then sank it again for another 30 mins and as you can see it worked great not a drop inside just
a few drops on the outside .
to summarise I gave this piece of
kit a real hammering with water sunk it for 1 hour and not a drop of water came in I would say this is a real good piece of
kit and well worth the price .
Please
remember most cars today come with electronic coded keys if they get wet your car may not start as the key transmitter may
not work take precautions to keep your car keys dry
