Since having this Lowrence
H2oc G.P.S and plotter
I have had no need to try and find out fishing marks and wrecks from admiralty charts the
plotter has all these built in on the SD card
So far it has been totally water proof just like the manufactures said
it would be.
It is very easy too use all you have too do is zoom in to where you intend to go and fish and mark it
as a waypoint .
Zoom feature allows you to pinpoint where you want to go i.e. over a wreck or off a sandbank the chart
also has the depth of water that you will be in and what the seabed consists of i.e. sand and rock
The go to feature
is also very easy to use just go to you’re way point menu, chose you’re waypoint you wish to fish and just press
the go to button and then that will take you to the exact waypoint that you have chosen
it will also tell you while
you are paddling out to you’re waypoint how fast you are going how far off course you are and what is you’re e.t.a
(estimated time of arrival).
There is a lot more too this plotter you can actually see how far it is to a particular
mark there is also a system for planning you’re route so you can go from one mark to the next with the minimum of efforts.
The
screen itself is very clear and easy too read, the buttons them selves are easy too use even with a pair of gloves on,
The
screen has a back light on it so if you intend using it at night you can do. . The latitude and longitudes are always
visible in all the pagers It also smaller enough to fit in a pocket for your P F D or you get a mount bracket for it so
you can fix it down to your kayak
The cost well you should be able to pick one up for around £250 to £300 with the
MMC card
chart faeture and screen
The latitude and longitudes are always visible in all the pagers
press the go to button and then that will take you to the exact waypoint
that you have chosen
